I forgot to add they took out my entire right ovary and tube as well as the endometrioma. The endo was stuck to the ovary too much for them to save it. Maybe the ovary removal could cause it.

After my thrid surgery and I think the others, I went a week before I asked my doctor about it. They told me to use a suppitotry to get me started and take a gentle laxative. I ended up having to get an edema to help me. I would ask your doctor to what to take but I had the same issue. I hope this helps. you don't wanht your bowl to get obstructed

I am taking Colace morning, noon, and night. No bowel movement! I have a Dr appt next week as follow up to surgery, so I'll ask her then if I haven't had a movement. I'm able to pass gas, though. Gas-X works WONDERS! I never thought I would be happy to be farting!

It's actually normal not to have a bm for almost a week after a lap because you take the stuff to clean you out then you are not eating your normal diet if that makes sense. But after 5 days you should be back to normal.

Okay. Its been nearly 4 days now and I was getting worried. I THINK I may have one tonight. I've just got that rumbly feeling in my tummy and I'm VERY gassy. I think this is the only place (besides gyno's office) I can talk about this and not blush from embarrassment, at least I know others went through it too.

I had surgery two weeks ago and they had to open both ovaries to remove endometriomas...I had a VERY difficult time with BM...I was taking colace 2-3 times a day and milk of magnesia...I was told it was a combination of things, but the pain meds were the biggest issue....they make you constipated. I eventually worked my way off the narcotics and still struggled. My doctor told me to continue the colace and milk of magnesia but to try eating grape nuts, activa yogurt and lots of water. The worst part was I was having intense pelvic floor spasms and couldn't squeeze my muscles or bare down to help push anything out...so I was miserable. Inventually things started to move...and now things are back to normal...but it took 2 weeks.

If u did a bowel prep the night before surgery then it can be up to a week after surgery before you get a bowel movement.

With all the chemicals in your body and usually with the pain medicines they cause constipation. Fiber choice chewables are great to help get things moving. Safe to take 8 in a day. It's also great for vitamins. If you can tolerate apple juice that helps also. Hope you can relief yourself soon. No need to worry just yet! hang in there.

It was 4 or 5 days after my lap when I took a #2.
Prior to the surgery the dr. told me to eat lightly two days before
and on the day before to drink nothing but liquids and use
laxatives/suppositories. I can assume that there was nothing in there to come out anyways. That might be true in your case.

Have you tried Miralax? It is a little expensive, but it is worth it. I have to take it sometimes. You can find coupons for it in the newspaper a lot.
