I had my first lap on Nov. 29. I was on my period when I had it and the doctor told me that I could have some extra bleeding after surgery because of something she puts in the uterus to move it around during surgery. I didn't really have any extra bleeding right after surgery but now starting today I have some. It doesn't look like new blood, it's brown and nothing heavy, I just put on a panty liner this morning and it's not soaked or anything (sorry for the TMI). I was just wondering if this was normal or common, I really started getting back to my normal activities this week so I've been pretty active.

I have had two laps and both times i have had brown/black blood a couple weeks after surgery! it is completely normal! hope you are feeling better!! :)

I had my last surgery this past October, I was also on my period for the surgery. You are suppose to bleed for about 3-4 days after the surgery, due to the trauma caused inside. However I bled for about 5-8 days, I decided to call my doctor and she told me that I needed to be resting for 2 weeks. Sometimes if you are too active you can cause bleeding. Maybe take it easy for a day and see how you do :)

I wouldn't be too worried though if you aren't bleeding heavy.

Oh any by the way I think we are all past the "TMI" on this support group = ) LOL

I had a lap two weeks ago and have the exact same thing--I asked my doctor about it and she said its totally normal and could last 2-6 weeks but will get lighter.

I had my lap done on Feb 22nd. I am still having the dark brown bleeding, sometimes its light, but yesterday and today its been heavy. My doc said that "it should go away completely" at my two week post op appt. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I'm thinking "SHOULD" go away? Surely this isn't a permanant side effect, this constant dark brown discharge. I feel a bit better after reading that it can take up to six weeks, since I'm past the two week mark already, and it doesn't seem to be going away.

I'm also having some trouble with painful bowel movements, but have read this is normal. There was a bit of pain during and after sex, again I read this is normal for a little while after the procedure.

I was patient in the beginning, expecting everything to go back to normal within a few weeks, guess I'm starting to worry now that its past that and I'm still having some issues.
