Every now and then I have a bladder issue that pops up out of nowhere and leaves just as quickly. This one is new though, and rather embarrassing.

I have pain near/in my urethra. Last night I had a lot of pain there when I was urinating. Now it doesn't hurt when I'm urinating, but every now and then it hurts when I'm just sitting or standing. It's a sharp, sometimes burning pain. I don't think it is an infection. I know what an infection feels like and it doesn't feel like this.

Does anyone else have this? Is it endo related?

In the past I've mostly had pelvic pain when urinating, which I'm almost positive is due to endo.

I randomly get this too, i usually take about 4 azo pills the day it starts then usually by the next morning its better :-)

Though the pills make your pee bright orange! I ALWAYS forget i took them and get the heck scared outa me once i finally go pee haha

I dont know if its endo related but it wouldnt surprise me if it was :/

I randomly get this too sometimes. It usually lasts for a few hours and I become convinced that I have some kind of severe bladder infection because it seriously hurts, then all of a sudden it's gone.

Sounds like endo's evil sister IC. A lot of us have bladder issues that feel sort of like a UTI, but it isn't a UTI. If it gets bad, you may want to see a urologist and tell them you suspect IC.

They do some test that doesn't sound pleasant to test for it...I haven't been tested but probably have it based on the frequency of my symptoms.

Hang in there, drinking a lot of water has helped me. When I feel something coming on I drink like 10 times the water and it helps a ton.

Thanks everyone! It's not too bad, but just odd. I go back to the doctor in a few weeks, so hopefully it won't get worse and I can just mention it then.

I had the unpleasant test for IC not long ago, hurts just thinking about it! But it came back negative so they pretty much said they dont know whats wrong with me :/

It can be scar tissue from surgery, or endo on or around the area causing pain. Or possibly IC...to get checked for IC you have to have a cystoscopy. Usually a urologist does this. They look inside your bladder and urethra. It might be worth it to see a urologist...if its IC, its a chronic condition as well, but there are treatments.
A LOT of us with endo suffer with IC too, among many other diseases; IBS, Lymes, food intolerances/allergies, PCOS, Adenomyosis, Fibro, Chronic fatigue...We tend to blame everything on endo, and our Dr's do as well, in reality, very typically we have other medical issues causing pain/symptoms. Its important to know because a lot of that can be treated better than endo can be treated.
Feel better, and I if this pain keeps up id encourage you to go to a urologist, or a gynocological urologist about IC, and a cystoscopy.

id reccomend a urologist too, a gyno-urologist is actually my reg doc now and he did my cystoscopy. If you do get a cysto, i 100%roccomend taking Azo pills right after because it can hurt really badly to pee the first 24hrs after (but its diff w/everyone)

It does sounds like interstitial cystitis, as most of us with endo have this condition as well. You can get some relief by taking Azo (or generic), and then trying to figure out what your triggers are. Generally these are acidic foods and beverages, alcohol, caffeine, etc. Different people have different triggers. My flare-ups are usually stress related.

If you get to the point where this isn't working for you anymore, or the pain is constant, you can ask to be referred to a urogynecologist. This is not necessary, but it can help.

Honestly, I was pissed I was sent to have my bladder tested when I came in for treatment for endo. I threw the info sheets for the tests in the trash upon leaving. I waited nearly a year before I finally followed up with the tests, and I wish I'd done it sooner. The test actually weren't that bad. If they don't offer you a numbing agent for either the potassium (K) test or the cysto, I would certainly ask for (demand!) one.

For me, the cystoscopy with hydrodistension was a treatment as well as a diagnostic test. I had it done shortly before my lap, and I was so relieved to not have to deal with ANY bladder pain while I was healing from surgery. I had no idea how much pain I was in until it was gone. I got a full SIX MONTHS of relief!

Just wanted to let you know it may not be all bad. Hope you get some relief!

I randomly get the feeling of a UTI starting, but then in a few hours it's gone. I will usually just drink a ton of water, and then it goes away. I tend to get them closer to my cycle, and when I do, they last longer. Cranberry juice, and green tea work wonders too. :)
