tell them you have a pain of 10, to pull their head out of their ass and respect the fact that its CHEST PAIN. you are supposed to be a priority when its chest pain no matter what they "think" it may be. that makes me so mad they're doing that to you. please keep us updated.

when I saw triage I stressed pain at 10 and chest pain. She seemed a little more concerned. Nurse that took my blood I was pretty high up on waiting list so should be seen soon. Sure hope so!! I'm making a list of all my symptoms as I wait and will push that they tend to every one!! I may be a pain in the butt but that's what they get! Military docs pushing me around!

Well visit went as well as expected! Nurse made me cry.. she asked my pain level. 10. She said so this hurts as much as child birth?! I told. Her well I don't know I had an emergency c section with my son. But they had to cut me open before knocking me out and didn't get and epidural so I know what a 10 is! She said well in this much "pain" you just lay in bed comfortably?? I burrst into tears and the words "WHAT A BITCH" almost came out before Dr came in and interrupted. Probably good thing though because she supplied the morphine. Which by the way made me feel like a total junkie while administering. It.

Otherwise the doc was awesome. Sympathetic and understanding. He did tell me up front that if this all turned out to be endo there wasn't really anything he could do. But he would give me enough mess to attempt to take the pain away at least for a night.

He reviewed my symptoms and asked if I had been diagnosed with fibromialga. He said that it sounded close to it that the stress and pain if mirena could've triggered all my other pain. Ran all the other test (vag exam, ultrasounds, chest xray, and ekg) all completely normal. And they told me I needed to see my gyn to follow up on mirena. :(
he did suggest getting into a pain specialist. He told me that with endometriosis I had a long road ahead of me for relief and try to be patient with military medical system. If he wasn't so kind and understanding I would have had a smart ass comment for him.

Called to try and get appt today with gyn since this would be my husbands only day off, but of course not! Scheduled me for tomorrow at 230. Then called me at 5 while I was eating dinner so I missed the call and left a message that my appt was now at 830 am. Tried calling back to tell them that's no good as my kids have dentist appt at 8 but of course they were closed! My husband told me to forget about dentist we could easily reschedule that. But getting into my gyn is nearly impossible! Smart man.

Nevertheless I'm sure tomorrows appt will be useless. Sometimes I want to demand this mirena out of me!! But part of me wants to give it a chance. I still have no bleeding on it so it must be a good sign! Right?

Endometriosis sucks big time...in fact that is why I am not sleeping right now...I am in way way way too much pain. I feel like someone is stabbing me repeatedly in my ovaries. I can't even lay down and be comfy. I have to be up at 7am and can't even fall asleep, going to be a wonderful day tomorrow. I am sick of people not understanding how much pain we are in, just because you cant physically see what is going on doesnt mean we aren't in pain. I hate people that aren't understanding specially nurses and doctors, they should get it but half of them don't. AHHH! It truly sucks.

casey im so sorry :/ i probably would have told the nurse she's being a bitch haha. I've gotten a nurse into trouble. a sergeant major (or some super high rank) in the hospital majorly effed him up for not doing his job properly. all i can say is i wish all the good luck towards you. and heres a big hug :)

Thanks ladies! And I'm glad I'm not the only one that deals withit but at the same time wish I could be the only one so no one else had to go through it!!

I had my follow up today with a new (to me) gyno. At first I felt relief because it seemed he knew about endo and may help. Then it backfired! I felt quite the opposite when he said "I know you are young but a hysterectomy may be the only thing that helps. But that would cure it" he had good intentions and was trying to help but what an idiot!!

Anyway the "plan" now is leave mirena in a couple more months so we "know" it doesn't help and can take it off the table. I didn't demand he take it out because I hope the severe pain goes away soon and it does work. But as I explained to him I can wait another week but I CANNOT be laid up at home and not take care of my kids or my house or my animals etc, just to wait and see! So after I wait it out and it doesn't help I will then go on lupron and letrozol for at least 6 months. I do NOT want lupron. Ive had it before and it made things worse on top of the psycho hitch it made me. My family is going through enough with my illness they do not need a crazy mama too!! But he said "you need to ty it again. They magnitude have done it enough. Lupron always works" and told me he would refer me to pain specialist so I don't have to wait "doped up raising my kids". I HATE these drs!

Decided to just wait to see specialist (endo). So I don't have to deal with these idiots!! But got a call for my refferal the Dr put in (supposed to be for endo specialist) and it was for an appt for the gyn clinic that I saw today!! Arghh!!! If anyone has tips on fastest if possible way to get a refferal to civilian doc and not deal with these military docs. PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

my husband is active so therefore im the dependent. i originally went to my PCM who gave me a referral to a gynecologist (off post. on post wasn't even an option). saw that gyno, then she wasn't able to treat me anymore. so i had to call up Tricare and tell them that i needed see another gyno. you have to call up tricare. then my referal was changed to another gyno. saw that gyno, they told me that they wanted to refer me to a reproductive endocrinologist. tricare told me that for that to happen the gyno had to call up tricare and tell them that they wanted to refer me to an RE.
you have to work with the places you want to see, but at the same time constantly keep tricare in the loop. you can even go on tricares site and pick out of their list of which specific place you would like to see.

If you are somewhere where you can see a good acupuncturist, that is the only thing I have found that is helpful in the middle of a very severe attack. He puts some needles into the bottom of my palm/ top of wrist area and it drastically reduces the pain during my period or ovulation or whatever. When I can't always run out the door to get needles stuck into me, I have my husband (this has to be done by someone strong btw but if your husband is military, hopefully this is the easy part), put a lot of pressure on those areas of my hand. The area is easy to find. Just have him or whoever press gently on different areas of your lower palm during an attack. When they press on a point and you feel like screaming, that is the right place. Then have him press with his thumb on that point hard for as long as you can stand. It doesn't remove the pain, like needles do, but it lessens it enough to allow me to move and saves many trips to ER.

Thanks so much for the advice! My husband did call tricare and they told him my pcm had to put in refferal. Saw my pcm and she put in for my referral. Then I got the call and she put it in fir the gyn on base. That I have been seeing already and they don't know diddly squat about endo. Still working on it though.

I'm going to have my husband try out the pressure point thing. Hope it works! I do not even know how to go about going to get accupuncture. Is it covered through ins? Would I need referral or find one and pay out of pocket?

Hi I just want to tell you about my experience with Mirena. I had it put in at the end of January this year. The very next day I was feeling dizzy with headaches and I felt chest
Pain and I was anxious. I did not want the Mirena at all but I decided to give it a try. I read all the side effect and I was scared. I realized I was making myself sick just thinking about the bad side of the Mirena. So I pray and change my actitud. During this time I have call my Dr twice to take it out. I was having pain y very bloated all the time. I just wanted to give it a little more time so I basically suck it up. I have 2 very active boys 8 and 2, yes terrible twos. I really push myself to keep living my life and not let Endo run my life.

Last time I tought about taking the mirena out ( end of May) things got better. I just came back from an internarional trip and I did not have issues.

I am glad I waited and did not take it out. I am not having periods only spoating like once a month.

I hope you feel better. Just wanted to share.

Thank you for sharing your story with me. I am tying to give it a chance. My family makes it really hard. My husband has the best intentions and only wants me to feel better and is pushing they take it out. He has never been sick and is expecting a quick fix with my issues. I winder how he will feel when they put me on lupron and femera. They want to do that next. Haha kind of amusing to think about it. Probably only because ive been supper moody and bitchy the past few days. Did you get mood swings in mirena?

No. I didnt. All my side effect were at the beggining. My Dr offered Lupron but no way I rather try thr Mirena. I was on Depro provera and it did not work for me:( it was a nightmare. I hate the night sweats, the headaches, the crazy mood swings and more. I hear the Lupron is more strong that Depro and that is enough to scare me jeje.

How long have you had the Mirena?
I am gonna stick with it. We'll see what happened.

About insurance, it really depends on which insurance you have. You should probably call them and ask if they cover it, and if so which ones they will cover. I personally don't have any at all, so it is just as cheap to go get acupuncture as it is to go to a regular doctor for me most of the time. Mine is $95 per session for an hour, whereas if I go to my GYN she wants way more than that amount of money for a far less helpful hour. The main thing is to make sure the acupuncture person you see is really good and not a quack because there are both types out there. If there's a local forum where you live or some way you can ask people which acupuncturists they have had and if they really worked, that is the best thing. If you are in NC, I can tell you for sure who to see, but otherwise just ask around. Generally, the more education the practitioner has had, the better they are; there are 4 major natural medicine universities in the USA for instance that are very good.

I have had mirena for 2 weeks now. I started putting on a brave face after seeing how this was affecting my family. Push myself to no ends and load up on pain killers. Then ending up crying in pain at night and sneaking off to the restroom to get sick from the meds. Feel like it is all getting worse. Don't really know what to do now.
