Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I had my first lap almost a year ago and I am having my 2nd at the endo of the month, I have a large tumor and cyst on my right ovary. Im curious to see how much Endo grew back in a year. But really it all depends on the person, some women go there whole lives not knowing they have it until they either have problems conceiving or have a hysterectomy.
I agree with whyme123, dont leave until you have a surgery set. If I were you I would just prepare for the worse, that way your not shocked about anything. I wish you the best of luck. :) Always remember you have us to go to when your worried, scared, nervous or just have questions.

I just want to make the right decision. I've been putting off going to see my gyne since May and I guess it was because I didn't want to be fobbed off again. My gyne is very good tho.
I remember after my 2nd lap he came in and said they found more endo but not loads and he said similar to you whyme, that some women have loads of endo but no pain while others have little patches but excrutiating. strange.
knowing a little of my situation, would you recommend a lap?
it's been 2 years and i think my mirena is running out.
thank you for your kind comments. i'm not normally this frantic or nervous. you guys are awesome :)
I personally would have another lap. Although I know that with each surgery they take out all the endo, adhesions and cysts they see i know it is going to come back i still like to know where i stayed every 2-3 yrs. I'm just funny like that. I can usually tell it's time when all the things i do to manage the pain stop working. I know what you mean about putting it off. I think you should go in. Even tho we suffer alot sometimes we have to kick our own butts into gear and go to doc and make them help us.

I have a friend at my support group that has stage IV endo...she said her only issues are pain on her period and infertility.
My gynae said there's also no correlation between pain and amount of endo...actually ALL of them have said that!
I suggest seeing your doc...if you've lasted 2 years good for you! But it is good to get that clean out...and change things in your life for the better...I'm doing Gluten free at the moment and finding it does help with the bloating =) Also alot healthier for me!
I hope you get some good feedback from your doctor =) and as Ashley said...expect the worst that way you're not shocked...and you'll always have us! =)

My doctor says that the lesions caused by endo effect the nerves in the body. It is fairly random where the lesions show up, so it is fairly random who has wretched pain and who doesn't. All it takes is one rotten little lesion on a nerve to make things really painful.
