Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
My doctor recently started to suspect that I have endometriosis and we have decided to go ahead and schedule a laparoscopy. I have since found out that my medicaid coverage ceased at the end of February due to lack of proof of unemployment for my husband. (Which only lasted 2weeks) I never got any notification that my my coverage ceased. I have now, in the past 2 weeks been scrambling to renew coverage... but my surgery is scheduled for April 20th. I now am facing having to either pay half or all up front or postpone my surgery. I do not want to postpone the surgery, I'm in god awful pain, plus I already have the time off from work. But my husband on the other hand wants to postpone it to wait for the medicaid to go through which could be another month/month and a half. This is what upsets me. We have the money to pay for it, in savings, which I agree is SAVINGS. But I told him that I'd work my butt off to replenish it. And I know if the roles were reversed I would say yes, of course, go ahead with the surgery. Maybe I'm wrong for wanting it so bad? I just feel wronged in so many ways. I stay home during the day to watch our son, I clean the house, I make dinner, I work part time, I wash all the laundry, I go out and buy groceries. I understand he works full time to pay the bills but he still acts like that's all he has to do. And now I actually need something and it isn't going to happen. I spend so much time taking care of him and our son, who is going to help take care of me?
I even had this talk with my husband where I told him that if something was wrong with him we would get it fixed no matter what, but for some reason it was o.k. for me to wait. It sucked, but looking back on it now it gave me time to find out more about the condition and to find a better doctor.

With the economy the way it is I would hold on to every cent I have. It will suck and I am so so sorry.
