I can't imagine 4 surgeries! My one and only caused a terrible recovery. But we feel your pain! :-(

I am so sorry you are going through this....I can really relate because my pain is full blown to and I have no quality of life. I will keep you inmy thoughts and prayers.

i've had 3 laps and my pain returned with a vengeance following them all. i'm currently taking a break from treatments and surgeries and just treating the pain. i finally found a pain clinic that is helping me immensely with it. i am on A LOT of pain meds, but am being kept comfortable. i'm on fentanyl patches(which controls the majority of it), norcos(up to 6 of them a day for breakthrough pain), and liquid oxycodone (once daily). this combo is working for me....at least for now. i have some of my life back! i still have bad days, but it's far better than it was before. i am just so burned out on going from doctor to doctor trying to fix it. i know eventually i will have to face the possibility of yet another surgery (most likely a hysto) but for now i just can't deal with it. it's really nice just to go to the pain clinic once a month and get my meds....much less complex than trying to figure out what to do next and being tortured by the gyno.(ultrasounds, pelvic exams...etc. pain meds are just putting a band-aid over it and not dealing with the source of the problem, but i really don't know how much more i can take and needed this break...physically, mentally and emotionally endo is so draining! i'm sorry your pain is already back full blown. it's a horrific place to be and i hope you can find some relief soon. hugs~jenny

I've been doing some real soul searching myself. I had my one surgery diagnosing me and the pain never went away!! Now I'm being "brow-beat" by my pain clinic due to needing more pain meds and getting harassed by my bosses about when I can come back to work. ( they won't let me unless I have the proper paper work saying I can do so!!!!!!! ) Also, my GP is trying her hardest to talk me into a hysterectomy and I'm really starting to get pissed cuz I DO NOT feel comfortable about with it!

Don't give up hope tex! Stand your ground!! Get a 2nd opinion! Obviously this doctor isn't getting the job done right if your endo is reoccurring so soon! I've seen a total of 5 gynos so far.

There is no real scientific evidence supporting that a hysterectomy will "cure" endo. "They" say it is 75% effective, but where on earth are they getting these stats from! And if a woman says it "cured" her, scientific evidence shows she most likely didn't have endo to begin with.

So try and take a breath and do some of your own soul searching.

Believe you me... YOU ARE WORTH THE EFFORT!!

Sorry you are going through this. There is no guarantee a hyst would end your pain. That is a very personal decision so i will just say that you do what YOU feel is right for YOU. I just had my 6th lap on Nov 5, 2010. I know for a fact a hyst wouldnt work for me because my problem is ovarian cysts, adhesions, endo and pelvic floor pain. I know oh so well how hard it is to deal with all of this esp if you don't have a good medical team behind you. Just wondering if anyone has suggested pelvic floor therapy? You can get a referral from your gyne. If you do not feel comfortable with him/her find someone else. Never let someone force you into anything. It is not their body... and unless you have walked in our shoes they have no clue the pain we deal with. All of our cases are different and ive been pleased to be pain free since January but I take one day at a time and know that the next can bring back the pain.

I know how you feel with regards to that commercial!! I can't stop thinking about that poor girl with arrows being shot into her lower back.

I feel like a thousand arrows have been shot into my entire lower body. And, they're on fire. =[[

yes I have had one lap with laser removal that didn't even give me a day break and before that I started having numerous cyst, fluid filled, blood filled, mixed, complex and no a possibility of a malignant soft tissue nodule I go in for my test next week and what I will suggest to you to advocate for yourself my dear their doctors and even with that title doesn't mean they know what your going through. Don't even feel bad about asking for pain medication if you need it you need it. We all here have been give a diagnoses that were told there is no cure so yes at times masking the symptoms by taking medication you have that right. I study and work with Social Behaviors, and Social Sciences there is a difference between addiction and dependency. Yes I as well depend on medication just to help me sleep at night because the pain is so bad my legs ache and shake. So for not another minute feel bad like you did something we at least me was not fully educated on my condition I thought due surgery by a trained doc and it will all be better, I wasn't educated that it may or may not help they did and when I complained about still being in pain they said "well we just did surgery you shouldn't". I do a lot of yoga which does help very much at times but times it does not. like you everytime I have a sonogram there is always a new functional cyst, complex cysts one that has ruptured for me that is not normal. I hope I have offered so help and peace of mind knowing there is somebody else that feels the same as you and understands. Take my dear. Hugs and Hugs to you.

Thanks for the support I finally went to the doctor Wed... praying I had a cyst but no cyst and still a lot of pain so after 15 years of this you kind of know its endo creeping back. The doctor can put on a happy face and not tell me that is what it is but I have 2 cycles to try and get pregnant and of course like many of us know the one cure doctors tell us is to get rid of endo is get pregnant... so 2 more cycles and I'll make the next decision... I've seen numerous doctors, specialist, testings and it just gets old... just want the magic pill that will make it all go away!
I had to call into work the next day because it felt like the doctor tied my ovaries in a knot and stabbed them with a knife.

sorry you are having a hard time, I had a hyst, not good, I now have chronic pain, everyday and on pain meds. It does/can come back in other places, not sure I believe the 75% success rate, esp all the women that I talk to that hyst has not helped. Get to a pain clinic, a good one.
