Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I haven't been diagnosed with endo but have been told that I probably have adhesions resulting in lots of left sided pain. My gynaecologist keeps saying the adhesions are probably as a result of an infection and never says anything about endometriosis.
What I can't understand is if he thinks they are as a result of infection, why does he want me to go on the pill if it's nothing to do with my cycle. I asked him this today and he just said everything is more sensitive down there at different times. I actually have most of my pain mid-cycle. I get the feeling he isn't really telling me what he thinks and am so frustrated with him. I suspect that he thinks it could be from endo but just won't say. He tells me he wants me to go on the pill to help him in his diagnosis. I somehow don't think this is standard practice with someone with suspected abdominal adhesions!

Sabby09, is your pain from pelvic adhesion disease worse at different times of your monthly cycle? My worst time is mid-cycle for about 4 days which is confusing me as I thought pain from adhesions would be more or less the whole time. Then again I haven't a clue, as I didn't even know what endometriosis was until about 6 months ago!
how is the stage of endo determined? Is it by the size or how long you've had it?

I'm getting constipated a lot which makes pain worse. At times (sorry for details!) I find it's nearly impossible to strain. It feels like things are stuck together or something.
One good thing that came out of my appointment the other day was that my left fallopian tube which was blocked off and enlarged, seems to have resolved itself and I don't need surgery for it. I had begun to notice that my pain has changed a bit in the last few weeks and was telling people I was a little bit better. I've been finding I'm not debilitated for 2 weeks of the month like I was before, maybe just really bad for 4 days now. I still have some pain most days but it's more manageable. I was having low grade fevers with the fallopian tube problem and felt mildy fluish a lot of the time. Awful when you have 2 kids to look after. I have to admit to being very thankful that I have 2 kids when I see what trouble some of you ladies have conceiving. We had to wait a long time for kid no 2 though, so obviously there were some issues there.
@sandypops the rib cage pain can also be from endometriosis inside the lung or diaphram. do you get this pain during your cycle or relating to certain times? if so its definatly possible. also endo as you know causes scar tissue which can wrap around the colon, intestines,etc causing blockage. i dont want to scare you but endo will travel ANYWHERE! its best that you should be diligent and get the lap. the longer you go the more damage it causes(with every period or spotting you have it grows). also congrats to your two kids!! thats amazing and awesome. most women with endo may never have that so comgrats momma :)
i am also going to give you a link that has xenoestrogens in them. xenoestrogens are fake estrogens in products which "feeds" the endo causing pain and growth

The pain under my rib cage can be at anytime of the month. It probably is worse though at certain times.
Sandypops - tube had repaired itself ? That sounds fantastic, maybe all is not lost yet.
Apparently the surgeon freed the adhesions incidently - time will tell if this helps the pain.
