It depends on the type of cyst... There are like 4 types I think (i can't remember exactly) but one of the types is a "chocolate" cyst which is filled with endometrial tissue... They will be able to tell you what kind it was after they send it to pathology... the one i had removed was blood filled so not related to endo...

Cysts are not directly related to endo, but people with endo often get them I believe. Ovarian cysts are somewhat normal, in that all women get them at some point, but they only become a problem if they grow large or do not go away.....endo is sort of a completely seperate disease (in that it is tissue escaping your uterus, which is not a cyst). Hope that helps!?
