You normally know when you have a uti cuz it hurts like hell but it does sound it oculd be the beginning of one. Walgreens also sells that AZO stuff that is great for UTI and usually gives relief quickly.

The best home remedy is a tall glass of water with cranberry juice. You down like 2 huge cups of that, and wait until you need to pee, and you cant hold in anymore. Once you pee, its immediately helps. I used to take those pills from the pharmacy, but they cost more $, and I found the cranberry juice and water more effective and quicker, and also easier. If you dont have cranberry juice, downing a ton of water will help. That helps me, but I have IC, so I get the burning and urgency often. i dont know that your symptoms sound like a UTI-though UTI's can cause backaches, the sure sign of a UTI is BURING, pain, and URGENCY in your bladder and when you pee, only a small amount comes out though you feel like you have a full bladder.
Also back pain is so general, it could be a number of things, even something very simple, like you need to be stretched. To be safe you might wanna consider maybe seeing a Dr. to make sure its not some sort of infection. I had a trasnvaginal infection, and my Dr. gave me metrogel, and didnt explain it was an antibiotic you actually insert the meds/gel into your vagina. So I didnt use it (not knowing it was an antibiotic), and a few days later, my God. I thought I broke my back. Im not kidding, I went to the ER. It turns out the infection spread. In the meantime I was in agony. So just to be on the safe side, maybe see your Dr.

I have used one of the at home tests before and it showed I had a UTI. I was like you in that I had never had one before then and wasn't exactly sure if I had one or not. I have also had kidney stones in the past, which felt similar to a UTI at the beginning, but kidney stone pains become ten times worse. The test was under ten dollars, which is a lot less than a co-pay at the Dr.'s office. I just called my OBGYN and told them I had a UTI and they called in a prescription. The AZO pills do work (it is pretty similar to drinking cranberry juice, but just in a pill form) in that they help with the pain/discomfort, but will not totally cure the infection if you really do have a UTI. Azo doesn't give me the results that I need. It not as efficient as other products that I have tried in the past. And being someone who has dealing with a recurring UTI, its important to use something that works and gives me relieve while I'm waiting for the doctor appointment to get antibiotics. I don't like using products that don't work as well. It's always a problem trying to find a product that works and doesn't have a side effect.
