Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
hi, it's been a while since I posted. happy new year!
saw how someone is leaving, and I haven't left, but am on here less often. I just joined the chronic pain board because my real issues these days are more about pain and less about periods (haven't had one in over a year!). well, anyways, they had a cool thing where they have daily check-in's to keep the friendships going. daily seems pretty often, but maybe we could start a new post each week to say how we're doing, something positive, and something not so positive.
agree with what others wrote, the names don't really change - we've been on here for years! and lately (or always) we get a million newbies posting the same questions. which is why I (guilty as charged) am on here less. I've answered the same q a million times, but really need some support still. emotionally. you too?

I'll start - our little guy just turned 11 weeks old and had his first belly laughs this week. it's the huge positive in an otherwise painful week. my back is killing me! how about you?

I am so happy to hear about you little baby, but am super sad to hear that your pain is back. :-( (oh the joys of this disease!).
As for me, my positive is that I finished nursing school a couple weeks ago, and also obtained my goal of finishing with highest honors (not important, but it is good to have goals IMOP).
My not so positive is that my endo is being a beast lately. I feel so awful this week, it has been pretty hard to function, though I am still pushing through (like I have a choice, HA!) Another sort of positive is I am having surgery on Feb 12th with what am have been told and have researched is a pretty skilled surgeon. He isn't Dr. Cook or Sinervo, but it is what my insurance will cover and I am hopeful that I will get some relief (FINALLY!).
So glad to see you are around, and so happy to hear your little one is doing well!!!
Valley congrats on graduating with highest honors!! That must've took a lot of dedication and commitment :) Proud of you girlie!
Vans, interview with a new job? I'm sorry to hear that you still have pain, and you'll lose the weight :) no worries there. How're you feeling otherwise?
Endowife, I think this is a great idea! And I love the idea of one positive and one negative. Lil baby laughs are so sweet! Those full-on belly laughs are contagious, can't help but laugh with them! Sorry that you've been in so much pain this week.
Also after 5 weeks of bleeding (spotting to heavy) I've finally not bleed for two days!!! Went to the Dr yesterday finally for a sono (saw her Xmas eve about the bleeding and began provera. Her sono tech wasn't in until after the holidays so I had one scheduled for this past Monday...but then everything was closed due to the weather so rescheduled for Wednesday....then Dr was fine delivering babies that morning so finally yesterday!) Turns out I have a good sized cyst on my left ovary!! I had my right ovary removed in November for constant cysts....is never had any in my left before!! The tech was really surprised I had a cyst...She said being on provera I shouldn't have cysts. So chances are it was rather large until I started the provera two weeks ago. I have been in terrible pain since taking the provera....seems due to the cyst shrinking (leaking). It's actually only a little more than an inch now. So I decided to just do the depo shot again for the months. After 24 hours on the shot I am 75% pain free from what I was having. Yay!! Maybe I can get back to normal now!!

These days my migraines are kicking my butt more than my endo...not sure if that's a good thing or not! But more than anything I am trying to be strong as my mom heads into major surgery next week for a back injury. In some ways it makes my issues feel like nothing, seeing her go through all of this. Sometimes a little perspective adjustment is a good thing I suppose, even if difficult.
@MNGirl, thank you for asking about me. I was just having an interview to keep my options open because in this world you never know. I am doing ok and getting stringer every day as far as my endurance is concrned. So I just keep working at it like all of you. While it is possible I may have pain from nerve damage at least it will not get worse and continue to spread and hopefully continue to shrink over the coming months.
v-turtle - gained some weight? you and me both! I had to do a lap before IVF, and then 2 rounds of IVF and then was dealing with a lot of crap during pregnancy. man oh man am I big at the moment. sigh. we can peel it off together. ;-)
MNGirl - that's funny about your stats class. I've taken many a stats classes and many people either get it - or totally don't get it. so he's probably used to those that have melt downs because they don't. a good friend of mine was a melt-down girl. it was funny and sad at the same time.
Christine, that's crazy about the cyst! glad you have some relief now. oh, and you are a brave brave soul for living in an area with such crazy cold weather. ;-)
felana I hear you about migraines. I'm having them too lately. ugh. as for your mom - there are two kinds of pain acute pain and more of an aching pain. I find that my endo is more aching and less acute these days - how about you? sounds like your mom's is acute. I think we get the bad rap because people can't always see that we are in pain. but ours is just as bad if you asked me. just looks different from the outside. hugs for your mom.
