Eczema Support Group
Eczema is a form of inflammation of the upper layers of the skin. The main symptoms are skin rashes characterized by redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, with possible crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding. Eczema can be extremely physically and socially uncomfortable. If you're an eczema sufferer, join the group and get support.
Hands are really difficult to heal because of the constant contact with water etc. The only method I know is to get a good, thick, waxy handcream, one made of beeswax is best, and just keep applying it to protect the skin. You can try putting the steroid cream on first, but the important thing is to keep applying the wax to prevent the skin from drying out. It takes about a week to heal the fingers, but you have to keep doing it while the new layers of skin strengthen. I think licking the skin helps too.
