people comment on how much i'm eating? my family tries to be supportive, but my brother doesn't know. if i told him, he'd tell me to"get over it" or "just stop". he was a student athlete and has never in his life had weight or food issues. he has zero empathy for such things. he's maybe 120 soaking wet. the national guard actually made him gain a few pounds before he went to basic.
the other night, i wanted to starve, but i made myself eat dinner. after i had served myself, dad and bryan were like "is that ALL you're eating?" occasionally, my dad and kayla still "check on me" when i'm in the kitchen to make sure i'm not bingeing. (they know.) and at times, they've commented at dinner and said things like "wow. are you SURE you want more food?" the other night, bryan said, "you hardly ate anything. you just moved food around." i had eaten a chicken breast, some corn, and a few bites of rice.
i wanted to scream! you don't make comments like that to a drug addict, or alcohalic. why is it socially acceptable to make comments about SOMEONE ELSE'S food and SOMEONE ELSE'S eating habits? why is it acceptable for our families and other loved ones to comment on our weight and other personal things just because we have eating disorders? so what do i do? i can't just yell at bryan when his girlfriend is over for dinner. how do i say something without making myself and others uncomfortable?

I can totally relate to some family members not knowing. I can feel it im getting to the point i just need to tell some important people in my family .. but im very afraid at what they will say to me. I think my husband will be much like you say your brother would react... just get over it. I wish people could be more understanding... duh if it was that easy to just get over it i would have already.Hang in there and dont let no one get ya down. This is a real thing and not that easy to just get over. Maybe try sitting down anyone you want to tell and pick out of of their addictions ( we all have them in one form or another... caffine, pop, coffee, chocolate, cigrettes) and expalin to them you wouldnt tell them to just get over it.

I would say something, maybe tell them that you dont think their comments are helping and if they want to say something maybe they can pull you aside and talk about it rather than call you and and make you uncomfortable

How can your brother be supportive and be sensitive if he doesn't know about your ed? Maybe you should give him a chance to be a good brother and fill him in on your problems. He might just surprise you and be understanding.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
