As for the kids issue...have they tried you on progresterone?? When I lost my cycle...they tried me on it...but, my body reacted badly to it. It's supposed to help restart your cycle and keep you regular...if it restarts you...they may try you on Birth Control to regulate you. However, if that's the case...then when you decide you DO want kids...you may have to go through a very lengthy procedure. I hope that everything works out for you. Ask your doctor about it. You may have done serious reproduction damage...but, it might be treatable. Never hurts to ask, right??
I was active in my disorder from age 11-ish to age 15 and tried recovery since then but in reality, for the first two years I was relapsing more than I was focused on recovery. But around 6 months without relapse my period came back but very light and only every few months.
As far as menstruating goes, I still don't get my period regularly. Over the past eighteen months of recovery, it has gotten more consistent though. The birth control did help, but I opted to not take it due to the cost of the rest of the medications I have to take. BC would probably be your best option; my periods are getting less intense also. At first they were horrid.
i was badly anorexic for around 2 year or longer, and been recovering now for 6/7 months.
my period hasnt returned either, i started the pill to start it which workd temperarily but ddint restart it properly only if i keep the birth control pill and it didnt agree with me, i felt poorly headachy and moody so stopped it and hoing one day it will return naturally.
