Treatment or no Treatment???

Well, it's a possibility for me to get some treatment through Canada since I'm originally from there and health care is covered. The programs in Ontario are deff. not for me as I went to one 3 years ago and they were SO strict which never works for me. Apparantly I have to go through the Ontario system if I want to get referred to an out of province center (which I would much rather). So now I'm left with this decision. I would have to go to Toronto hospital and go through the ER. They might admit and might not. Maybe one of those Dr's can refer me. if not I might have to go to the ED program they have there and just comply even though that program is not one I want to even think about going to. So I told my dad I'd compromise going for a week if it would mean I could get referred. So basically i would go and not know where the hell I'll end up.

I'm stuck because I don't know if I can deal with all of that. It's so much easier keeping ED. I feel like I have to go to please my father since he would sacrifice his life and come there with me. Also, I have no home to live in right now and ppl keep telling me it's the perfect time to go, but I don't want that to be the reason for me to go to treatment! I don't know what I want! I just want to be happy and I want a roof over my head...somewhere I belong:( I feel so sad and alone:( I need all the advice and opinions I can get. Thanks guys1

I think you should go for treatment. Not because you have no where to live. But because the opportunity is there now, and in life, regardles of what it is, i believe in taking opportunities when they come along. Especially ones as potentially life saving/changing as this. Be honest with yourself, will you ever be 100% willing to give up ED before going into treatement? I for one know part of me is resisting buti am still pushing forward for OP treament as i know if i was 100% committed i woudn't need it, if that makes sense?! It's only easier to keep ED in the short term, and it's certainly not easier for loved ones to see you dealing with it without help. Also treatment would give you a really good support network and help you to not feel alone.These are just my thoughts. It is never easy to make big decisions like this, but making them is usually the hardest part (i left an abusive husband and moved to two new towns this year so i know all about uprooting yourself and making big changes!). Good luck whatever you decide. You dserve to be well...

The problem with decision making is this, if you dont make a decision, then it will ultimately be made for you on e way or another. You are at an age where you should know that your health is the most important thing in your life and everything else is secondary, look at Maslow's heirarchy of needs, get yourself into treatment before you end up dead!

You know, when I went to Remuda Ranch in Arizona there were quite a few patients from Canada. I guess they got a referall to go there and were approved and Remuda works with them easily because they know they're gonna get paid.

I don't know why but I'm crying now. I'm so scared! I want to go but I don't. A part of me wants to die because I've tried recovery so many times before and I always fail. I'm so scared. I'm in a hotel now and only have another night here and don't know where to stay after that. I don't want that to become a crisis situation and be rescued (since hat's been a pattern for me). It needs to be in my own time. I need to figure out what to do with my car and my stuff in storage etc. My dad wants me to leave this weekend, but that's too fast for me! The only problem is....am I going to sleep in my car again?
Also, I LOVE my therapist now and I don't want to leave her. I've have so many therapists and she has been one of the best and I really connect with her.

It's just hard when I don't know where I'll end up after Canada bec of wanting to be referred.

scarchilli......I'm so glad you said that because I've heard that before but wasn't sure. I am SO hoping that I can be referred somewhere residential in the states. That's the risk I have to be willing to take.

I'm terrified!!!!!!!!!!
