i am a sucker for old tv shows. i love "will and grace", "friends", and "the nanny". but the nanny is starting to become triggering for me. every time the female characters on the show are upset, they eat. man trouble=cake and ice cream. arguments=pasta. and fran's mom is FOREVER eating. i know that it's an exxageration and it's supposed to be funny, but i swear that character was created to be a food addict.
right now, it's just triggering bingeing thoughts, but i can't help thinking that i may relapse. which would suck because it's been nearly 3 months since i binged, and a long time since i starved. (i don't have the exact date in my head.)
i don't get it. i grew up watching that show. i started bingeing when i was 11, and tv shows NEVER triggered binges before.
am i overreacting or do i have legit concerns? what would you do?

Triggers can change over time and you have to respond accordingly which in this case means stop watching the nanny. Easy fix.

I don't think you are over reacting at all. I see a lot of things that purposely promote eating disorders especially commercials and the way some items are set up in the stores. Like the diet products stocked right next to the candy. It's mean. I can't figure out why they do it except just one of the ways to help kill off the population my dad use to say.

I watch The Nanny sometimes and I've found it triggering, too. But it's not so much their binging that triggers me. It's more of the fact that Fran is so thin WHILE she eats like that. Obviously I know it's just a show, it's not real, but it's still triggering in that way for me. So, you're not alone.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
