I just realised that i was doing it like 5 minutes ago.
My fingers turn blue or purple and i guess i just automatically suck on them to keep them warm...
I just turned 16 (6 may) and i still suck my thumb whenever i'm tired, bored or just watching t.v.
I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but i seem to be putting anything in my mouth, i noticed that i would be chewing on the back of my pen or pencil and i had to force myself to stop because when i was babysitting my little cousin (21 months) i was coloring with her and i noticed she put the marker in her mouth and she wouldn't let me brush her teeth so i just gave her some milk and told her mom when she got home later that night, it was a non-toxic marker.. so it said on the package it came in but i still worry because little kids copycat really easily.
I started sucking my thumb when i was two, because my friend's older brother did it and i copied from him. My mom tried everything to stop me; vinager, i grew to like vinager, lemon juice, i like lemon juice, and also to help me stop biting my nails, which my dad did and my sister copied from him and i copied from her, she stopped all on her own when she saw how disgustingly short dad's nails were, and when she figured out that 'it's fun to scratch people', my mom used that gross tasting nail polish or she would use nail polish remover but then i just washed my hands really good.
...sooo, yeah.
My fingers will turn a normal pinkish color and then after about 5 minutes they go back to being blue or purple and my toes do the same, but i don't suck on my toes :P
When i get out of the shower (when my toes arn't painted) my toes look a normal pink color and then about 5-10 minutes later they're blue or purple...
Even wearing gloves or mittens won't warm my hands up, but sucking on my fingers seems to do the trick :S
If any one has any advice or similar stories please tell.

I don't remember anything happening to my mouth except i bit through my bottom lip when i was younger when my mouth was frozen because my brother and sister kept making fun of me because i was talking weird and i wanted the freezing to go away...
But i have always stuck things in my mouth but i realized that i do it more now then ever before..
though maybe you want to see a doctor about having such bad circulation in your fingers and toes?
I used to have two of them, one to keep in the car and at home , and my family member have extras for me to use, basically really soft small blankets.
I've showed my mom how my feet and hands turn purple and right cold and she said 'oh ok then i'll make a doctor's appt' and she never did.
My hands were reeeeally purple i almost looked like i had a hand transplant or something lol, and even when i sucked on my fingers they turned white like a ghost and then like not even 2 seconds later they were purple again...
I made smiley faces in my hands :D :P
