Does anyone know how testing of placebo drugs works?
Is it possible I'm being prescribed a placebo drug instead of the real thing without my knowledge? Except I think now I DO know!

I dont think so.. you have to AGREE to be in a trial of medication... then you report the results and it goes into a report to let ppl know...

not all drugs work for all ppl... sometimes its a lot of trial and error...

But the other day I took 10 prozac cause I wanted to feel numb for a bit. Nothing happened...nothing! I don't believe they are real tablets.
Last year when I was with a different pdoc, he doubled the dose and it had to be reduced again because it knocked me out. Now, different pdoc and this...

Your body changes and can metabolize things differently year to year. For example, all of a sudden I have developed lactose intolerance after years of being fine....also I took prozac for 6 years and when I was 22 I began to get manic on it all of a sudden.
I BEG OF YOU NEVVVVVVERRRR take 10 of anything without a doctor's permission. Your body could freak out, overdose, who knows?? I think it is illegal to give a placebo if you are being told you are taking a specific med...talk to your doc most importantly :)

so true... you should not be self medicating like that... its not what prozac is for...
