I had my first appointment with a phyciatrist today. It was all going so well and he even said that i wasnt that ill. Then he asked me some more questions and before i knew it he was suggesting that i go to hospital or have home help. I dont want either!!! He sent me to sit in the waiting room while he talked it over with someone else and then called me back 20 minutes later. I was so scared. He said that he wanted to see me in a week or 2 so he let me go on the condition that i give up the laxatives and slimming pills and eat. I made no such promises but i escaped this time. Its not like im under weight or anything. Im not sure hospital is gona help in anyway. Im not sure about anything anymore. Im so tired so cold and just want this mess to be over. I want to sleep but have to go out to work in a bit and im struggling to keep awake.

I dont really know much but although ur not sure hospital is goin to help, if its an option your willing to try theres surely no harm in trying it right? Although, i know thats easier said than done. xThinkingOfYou.x

I know you were dreading going to the appointment today, you took the right step in going and I think you are now exhausted, is it now time to let the professionals take control. This way you have the choice of voluntary care, if you leave it, it may well be that the mental health act incarcerates you, my advice is while you have the choice make it. could be a very important second step. Good luck and let me know how you get on? Fane

You know you don't have to be underweight to be sick. And yes the hospital would help because you wouldn't have access to laxatives and diet pills which apparently you are not able to give up on your own. Please go and get the help you need. I know you are scared but it's worth it.

I have just started seeing a psychiatrist myself. I was scared at first too, but mine didn't force me into any treatment right away. I was also abusing laxatives and I stopped after I learned that they don't prevent you from adsorbing the calories just vital nutrients. I think you should seek help just find a better fit. I love my therapy and actually look forward to appointments.

I'm sure you are extremely scared and exhausted. Maybe it is time to stop trying to escape treatment. Your resources in dealing with this sound extremely low. It is time for intervention, before you have a heart attack from the electrolyte imbalances.
