its just negative thoughts that r filling ur head up with stuff, sometimes we all have to face our fears, and u will be surprised at the outcome. we always fear the worse will happen, but if we dnt try then we cant possibly know what will happen or how we feel.
good luck and i hope things go well for u. x x x
I'm another one with male psych. And it was uncomfortable at first but now he's really predictable and familiar, like an old blanket kind of. He's not very good with ED, but he tries anyways. I hope you can at least try with an open mind, and then if you aren't comfortable you can reassess?
Take a risk and try it- he might suprise you and be easy to talk to! Like a lot of the others, my main therapist over the years was a male, my current psychiatrist is a male, and my PCP up until he moved a month ago was a male as well. I trust them like my life depended on them (which it kind of does lol) and they are wonderful.
I just recently switched PCP's and now have a female- she is great too. But then again I had a female PCP while in college and I HATED her. So it really depends.
Please try to stay open with the idea of a male doctor!!!
