I find myself having this problem when i'm unhappy. When my depression was at its worst my eating disorder was also at its worst. Now that I am taking better care of my depression I find that i'm not as obsessive over my food or my weight. I think you need to just make sure you are happy and healthy physically and mentally :) best wishes!

my depression has been under control for quite some time now, anxietxy is still a bit of a problem. i am nhappy on how life has turned to be and the huge stressors that never seem to end. today was another struggle, ignored my hunger signal mid morning, actually to busy to have it and then when i was going to have a bit, someone had eaten it. nothing seems winnable to me right now.

I know what you mean, I have anxiety as well and its so easy to get overwhelmed thinking about food and when and what you're going to eat. Just try to keep busy but make sure that you make it a PRIORITY to eat healthy meals. Sometimes it helps me to plan it out for the week or for the next day so that I know what to expect and feel less anxious. Hope things start looking up for you :)

YES... I think about it 59 seconds out of every minute. The one second I am not thinking about it is divided up by my daughter, work, etc. It seems like lately, I even dream about it. I just went on vacation and it was really hard to find food to eat, etc. Needless to say, I didn't eat much and the hotel had a gym so I didn't skip the gym as I had planned. Same ED just different location. I feel very trapped and unable to escape. I am proud of you for getting to a healthy weight. I wish I had some advice on how to stop the mind but I have not found a way myself. Just know that I can understand and you are not alone.

jenjen, anxiety is awful and im sorry you have it too. i try and plan out food, i actually have bought a different food but there it sits, and i cant afford to do that. i can eat a different type of snack, when i do have them, but not a meal. laura, i am sorry you are having troubles, we all seem to have the same problem. i feel like even the slightest bit more i eat i will continue to gain, which is stupid as i know i shouldnt lose any weight, i really dislike myself and ed! my beach, i have had trouble when away too, but somehow i managed to eat, but that was back in early june before i knew about the weight gain. yes i should be happy to be at a safe weight but im not, i miss the bones that were more visible, no matter what others say about looking healthy. my doctor says i will continue to gain as i include more foods and calories, omg!!! i dont understand how you can know that recovery is a fgreat thing, that eating a balanced meal is right, yet it is such a struggle.

I keep relapsing into my old safe foods and ed behaviors always thinking about food and pissed that I gained 12 pounds in 5 months on 1200-1300 calories per day. I am finding myself cutting back on protein, any snacks and even my wine scares me now.I know I gained because my clothes are tighter, stomach distended, legs fuller-should be great but I say yuck. This is not easy no matter what and it comes down to this eternal battle with 2 minds it seems.I wish I had an answer but hey here to listen and support you.

thanks zopta, it is awful and drives one nuts. one thing positive i have achieved through therapy is eating breakfast. i havent missed a day, though some days, esp. at work, i dont eat it all lately. i have yogurt and granola, even when i force myself, i find i do enjoy it. one good thing anyways. i am getting more obsessed with always doing some form of exercise every day, this heat has caused problems in this and has contributed to the "fat" feeling and lazy feeling. i am here to support you too.
