I was overwhelmed yesterday while stocking the candy section at work yesterday, all I could smell was the chocolate and the urge to open a bag and pour it in like the older days was big. I had to walk away.i am still struggling to gain back the stupid 10 pounds I had lost and I go soon to the secailist and she wont be happy. I am not seeming to add enough more calories, and then that happened. I proceeded to over eat, in my eyes, at lunch and definitely at dinner. I had a ton of hummus, was full but took out my big protein bar and a bowl of nuts and ate it and felt disgusting the whole time. I am now forcing breakfast in, so hard. I hate this ED and all the forms it takes, and my stress level is through the roof right now and I always have over eaten when that way and that is one of my huge fears, that iswhy the candy smell and need to eat it was so scary. I am unable to get to any OA meetings, and they were just beginning to kinda help, still unsure about it and I have some numbers to call but I haven't reached out. I feelso stupid and dumb.

hey ann, I feel your pain, it is so hard to rebound from a binge without feeling guilt and self-disgust... one thing I that I have read (and am trying to apply to my own ED issues) is that self-compassion and problem-solving are more effective than berating oneself after a binge. Sounds like you identified what triggered you, now I guess just accept that while you aren't happy with what you did, it happened and everyone does things they regret, then move on. Tough to do, I know! You are definitely not stupid or dumb, and it s too bad that you can't attend the OA meetings right now, hopefully you will e able to find the help you need elsewhere. All the best and I am thinking of you :-)

I didn't succumb to the candy and my "overeating" was likely in my mind. thank you so much for your support. today will be a challenge as I am sitting ll day at a training and I will feel the need to not eat much as I am not doing anything. sigh

I hope the training went okay, and I hope you are feeling better about things. Hugs!

If the OA meetings are helping then try to make them! I get the feeling and can totally relate. Maybe if you made meal plans and stuck to them.for a bit it will help you feel good, have control, know your meeting your nutrients requirements, and you will help reduce the urge to binge? I know when I have my meals planned out for the day I feel more comfortable and have less anxiety about food

thanks, i am supposed to be seeing a nutrinist or at least have tried one, i haven't, i tried before and it doesn't work for me, i cant seem to get out of the rut of eating the same darn things and i think i am adding more but since the scale says no i guess not enough. there are only 2 OA meetings near me and one was sunday and i was in training, i did reach out Saturday and called a fellow member. i can go on Tuesday, i wish there were more meetings here. i am at a loss right now, they mesed up and didn't schedule me for today as my last training day and i cant get fit in till Friday! i could of started work this week, so pissed. the desire to restrict is so big right now with all the stress, the unknown, my parents i cant stand it

Ann I am right there with you. I'm in anorexic mode and ED is just sneaking there and taking over. I'm constantly thinking of how to avoid eating and how much weight I will lose. I have also had the binge thoughts. You are not alone and you have the fight in you. All we can do is keep going and trying each day. I just wanted to know that I know how you feel and we have each other!
