i hope this is purely a physical issue, but i am not sure. i am fully aware that we can not diagnose each other, but i am very worried, and i trust my friends here. i hope you don't mind me venting. i just want your advice and would appreciate your prayers. i apologize for the triggers included, but it is neccessary for me to fully explain the situation. if you are triggered, please stop reading.
my 14 year old sister kayla is a vegitarian. she has been for about a year and a half. she has a 97 percentile growth rate, which means that only 3% of children her age in the USA are bigger and stronger than she is. because of her body type and growth rate, she used to have a weight problem and she began to lose weight and exercise (in healthy ways) in 6th grade.
with her new weight loss, her appetite began to adjust. since she became a vegitarian, her appetite shrunk even more. although she stopped trying to lose weight a couple years ago, it has now reached the point where she is barely eating anything. she is telling friends and family that she is simply not hungry. but we are becoming very concerned because she is going abnormally extended periods of time without eating at all. she told me yesterday that she was full to the point of physical discomfort after only eating a small order of mashed potatoes and some fritos. she seems to be at a healthy weight, and has finally reached a point where she is comfortable with her body.
when i asked her sunday what she had eaten that day, she thought for a minute and said, "i had a scone at 8 this morning." when we had this conversation, it was 10 at night. she told my dad she only had 4400 calories sunday. he flipped and made her eat spegetti o's.
after this, she felt very physically ill, as if she was going to vomit, and she fell down. her stomach was also very sore.she has had these symptoms after eating for several days, and has missed summer gym because of it. the only other foods she had this past weekend were some ice cream and popcorn with friends.
my dad has a hunch that she may have some sort of undigested veggies in her system that could be causing her some issues. my brother is concerned she is not getting enough protiens. i am concerned because she is showing some symptoms of developing my ED (ednos). PLEASE HELP. my mom has asked that i schedule an appointment with my NP for her.-fallon

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
this can be normal but i suggest she see a nutritionist because the stomach cramping, the bloating and such could be caused by lack of b vitamins or iron and could be causing these symptoms. or she could be developing and ED but i would not jump to that conclusion.
keep us posted if possible.

Yes, please.... do keep us posted.
she did not tell the doc that she was barely eating. but this is a new doctor, so maybe it will take her some time to warm up to her. she has lost a substaintial amount of weight, since the last time she was weighed in gym 3 weeks ago.
