my name is Vicki and im 25ys old and I've kind of always been a little obsessed with my weight. i would notice that when i .wanted to lose weight and started working out i would always be there for hours and then the way i ate changed too. i would always just take a few bites of my food or dink lots of water to make myself full so i wont eat as much food. i would skip meals and when i did eat it was something very small. i had a baby almost 2ys ago and over the years I've about 40lbs. so about ago 3 weeks ago i decided that i needed to loose weight so i started working out a little and then the eating habits started again. for the last few days I've been purging after every meal even if its just a small bowl of cereal. the first time i did it was because i felt sick after eating pizza so i made my self throw up and i felt better so now every time i eat, i start to feel sick and the only way to make it go away is to throw up. ive lost 15lbs in 3 weeks, i kind of think maybe its a problem but im not sure. i could use some advise. please and thank you

I think you are correct in thinking there is a problem. Not eating and purging are serious, and from what I've heard the sooner you get help the better it is. It is a good step that you are here for support! Although, you may want to talk to your doctor because the feeling sick after eating could be a medical problem. ED is a disease, but it has mental and emotional parts to it as well. Are you throwing up because you feel sick, or because you don't want to gain weight? If it is strictly because you feel sick, that sounds like a different medical problem to me, but I'm no expert. I'm just a 20 year old college student. The skipping meals is disordered behavior and it would be a good idea t o get help with that somewhere.

thank you for your advise and to answer your question my throwing up is weird to explain. i guess im kind f viewing food as my enemy and the thought of eating is what makes me sick and makes me want to throw up.

It sounds like counseling could be helpful for you then, but, once again, I'm no expert. You may want to do something to make sure you don't get worse. Something so that you can really start living your life to the fullest and not having to worry about ED.

definitely sounds like getting some help would be a good thing.....it is SO much easier to catch EDs before they get really entrenched....they are hell to live with

thank you all for the great advise and support, its something that is very hard to talk about and even admit but i know something has to be done. im so glad that i can come on here and ask questions with out the feeling of being judged or lectured about what im doing instead of support.
