Honestly...and I think it's irony is a little funny, but in a sick, sad sort of way - think about it, but I think it might be a triggering fact, so just in case, I'm sorry :
I think the reason is that obesity is more common in the US and therefore, it's not uncommon to see people overeating.
and people who are anorexic and bulimic are a 'shock' to society, more-so because they're doing the opposite of what is 'common' in the US which is obesity, and/or being overweight...you know what I mean?
