Sounds like you have reason to worry about the mental/emotional health of your boyfriend - especially after the awful grief he has gone through..
You have reason to be suspicious too...if you have noticed some "strangeness" around the toilet area. I don't think you are crazy for suspecting an eating disorder - you are just concerned and have noticed some signs.
Are you contemplating bringing this up with him? If you two are serious I would think at some point this would need to be brought to the surface. Though it also sounds like he is resistant to getting help from what you mentioned about the counselor.
Many men (though not all) have a difficult time talking about emotions or reaching out as we all know. I don't know the type of person your bf is, but this could be a little tricky.
I would suggest bringing it up - though be very careful how you word everything. Let him know you are there to support him. He is probably screaming inside for someone to be there for him - after losing a mom, brother, and not seeing a counselor??!!
It could be someting more serious than you think or could be a strange poop problem:) Either way, it sounds like he must be going through some issues. I wish you luck! You are supported here too so feel free to ask for advice as needed.
