Eating Disorders Support Group
Eating disorders are marked by an obsessive need to control the intake and/or purging of food. This community is dedicated to those struggling on the road to recovery. Join to discuss your experience with others and find support. Get advice, ask questions, and meet others who are going through similar struggles.
My suggestion would be to continue coming here for fellowship and support - it really helps to know you aren't alone in these situations. Also think about trying to get in to see a counsellor, particularly one that specializes in (or even has knowledge of ) eating disorders. Therapy has helped me tremendously!!!!! Not sure what resources you have available to you locally but it wouldn't hurt at this point to at least do some research.
WELCOME and please........know that you are not alone!

I can definitely relate to everything you've shared. My ED behaviors started at 13 after a sexual assault. I am now almost 36 and I've had ups and downs, but currently in a really bad place because I allowed the ED to take over again. I am to the point I can't digest and experience severe pain if I try to eat, please don't let it get this bad. I might be hospitalized next week, and if so it will be my second time force-fed through a tube. Please seek help before your ED gets worse. I dropped out my senior year in college due to my first hospitalization. I was so stressed I coped by not eating, which led to complete exhaustion/heart issues and I had no choice but to drop out. My brain had shut down to the point nothing made sense and I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without feeling I would die. Sorry if I'm scaring you. But you've come so far in college, I don't want you to feel the humiliation, shame and pain of having to quit due to your ED. I don't have the answers as to how to recover successfully, but I've tried it on my own, and so far it hasn't worked out well for me. I am happy you joined this group. Please keep posting, try to shut down the ED voice and eat to nourish your brain so you can complete your goals/dreams. Wishing you the very best!!! You're not alone, and there are people here in recovery, please reach out to them. Hugs!
