This morning, as I was filling the remainder of my college paperwork, I decided to tell my school-to-university counselor know about my ED.
In the midst of all the revealing she convinced me to accept the treatment offer..
Today I also found out what the treatment offer was:
Outpatient care at my former counseling office..and of course i'll be paying for it.
Needless to say I am not accepting it, instead I have convinced myself to begin searching for an affordable treatment facility on my own..
since i'll be paying for it anyways, may as well get the full course..

Do you have insurance or can you get any kind of aid? It is so expensive and you deserve to get the best and make it work. Good for you for being so strong and working hard to find the right treatment center - that is a huge milestone:)

I think I have medicaid and some insurance that my mom has at work. But I am also 18 and my insurance is going to run out:/
any ideas or know of any places?

There are a lot of places depending on where u live. You should be under your mom's insur. until 21 because you are a student so check into that. Are you looking to go IP or do partial??? Do not stop fighting. You are doing a great job so far - keep moving in that forward direction:)

I also think IP would be the way better choice. Medicaid pays for quite a few places: Kansas City Research Center, Denver ED Center and Somerset in New jersey and that's just a few.
Also there is Mercy Ministry which is free. The paperwork is extensive and you have to commit to stay for 6 months.

Karrin thats great but I live in Oregon..
i have OHP, and am too scared to ask my mom our insurance guidelines..
i need a school referral as well:/

YAY!!!! So glad to hear this. I may be doing some oupt work through the same hospital soon although there are some who would like to see me IP
(yeah i tried to stay away, i failed lol)
