after my surgery and in the recovery period I lost weight that I shouldn't have, I was at a thin but stable weight and the doctor was happy. after the surgery my appetite was next to nothing which they say is normal but it stayed that way and I ended up at my lowest weight. I did call my specialist and we set up a plan that wwas easy for me to do to stop losing and then to gain back the lost weight. it was hard at first but I was doing really good however the past couple of days ED is returning fighting me with all he has. I am trying hard to overcome it and do what she has said but I have backed off some on the amounts and feel so ugly and gross. I know that I am ugly with the weight loss so why do I let this happen? why do our minds trick us so when we know better? I asked the physical therapist about eating during recovery and he said know one must eat more and the right foods for healing all the trauma your body is going through. I knew this already yet my mind is playing with me now again, I have to stop. I did have my breakfast, though a bit shy of what I should of. any advice?

When I am struggling...which seems to be always lately...I follow a very scheduled meal plan...one that I have set up with my nutritionist. I have 3 meals and 3 snacks a day and I eat them at the same time and I eat the proper portion. It is just part of my schedule. I don't think about it. I don't allow ED the chance to get his sneaky little voice in because it is so much a part of my routine. Can you set up a meal plan that you follow every day...same time, same place? You definitely know what you need to do, it is just a matter of doing it. The least amount of power and control you can turn over to ED the better off you will be. Please remember that ED is lying to you...he is lying to you about how you look, what you should eat, how much you should eat, how you should eat it, what the food is doing to your body, and on and on. ED IS A LIAR. You have to be the voice of reason. You know what your body needs and it is up to you to provide it. You are doing a really good job...don't back off or quit now...keep pushing on. You can do this. I believe in you.

thank you Sarasota, you are spot on again. it is interesting, I do follow a rigid when I eat times and I get made fun of for it, that I am not flexible enough, sometimes you cant seem to win. I know I have to close my mind to ED and I fight it every day, and I am mostly ok except for the past few days, I have to get back on track with what the specialist said to eat starting this morning. I will fight hard and think of you, your fight and your wise words. hugss

Sorry to hear you are struggling but Im glad youre aware of your situation so that you can, as Sarasota says, bring reason into play. Thats hard since eating disorders are anything but reasonable but I wish you well and hope you will be able to be active (but not overactive:) again soon.
