So recently I stepped up my game a little and really made it a goal to recover. I was really proud of myself. I got myself up to around 88 pounds and finally into the nineties. However...Suddenly I'm seeing myself as much bigger and losing my motivation. I'm not skinny anymore..so why should I have to recover? Like before I would eat a lot but then tell myself it was alright because I was very underweight. Well, I dont feel underweight anymore. So what do I do? I'm fallling into another eating disorder mode.

I don't have an eating disorder, so I couldn't tell you I understand completely what you're going through, but I'm 120 pounds with a nice butt and big boobs. I also model, so at one point I did feel the pressure to stop eating to become "perfect model type", but I must say, although its amazing you gained weight, you're still so skinny and its really unhealthy. Start putting more protein and veggies in your diet and eat small meals of it with plenty of water. The more you stop eating, the more pounds you'll gain if you start again. I hope things get better for you. *hugs*

well, you are still very underweight. in fact, your weight is still so low that you are at risk of heart failure, kidney failure, and a load of other serious health problems. you have got to keep gaining and you have got to push away the body image thoughts or at least work around them. I know this is hard. It's probably the hardest thing you'll ever do. But this is your life we're talking about. Please don't give up now.

The same thing happened to me when I was having to restore my weight in treatment. They called it getting out of the honeymoon phase. Meaning at first recovery is all good & your motivated. But then reality sets in, ED starts fighting harder & you second guess recovery. Just remember, when the bad thoughts come in your head, it's the eating disorder talking. Keep fighting, don't give up now! Recovery isn't easy, it's rough & it's hard. It's not a straight path. But in the end, you will look back & know recovery was so worth it! Much love & I wish you the best! (:

One other thing--body dysmorphia is often caused, or at least made worse, by starvation. Basically, starvation messes with your head. Your body image issues won't magically disappear once you have gained enough to get your body healthy, but for me at least it improved HUGELY.

negative body image was honestly one of the hardest things for me to get over and something i still struggle with. treatment told me that the negative thoughts are some of the last thoughts to go. For me, i reach out for support & i also have positive quotes posted all over my apartment and my mirrors. it sounds silly but it actually helps me sometimes. i constantly remind myself when a negative thought comes in my head that its ED and not me. of course, its still a big struggle. keep fighting the negativity & ED.

thank yo u so much i have some quotes up on my walls. I think that it makes me upset when i pass a mirror and see this huge person staring back.. but Iknow that it's in my head. Also what's been a problem for me recently is that i want other people to see me as really underweight. for some sick reason part of me wants people to think I'm sick. I don't know why. did anyone else experience that and can help me?? I feel messed up.
