Having one or two cookies is not going to make you gain weight. It's the whole dozen that will do it (says the girl who can't resist eating a dozen when she makes them...)
Eating at night can make you put on weight over time, so make sure you're getting enough calories during the day to sustain you so you're not hungry come bedtime. It's also better for your tummy!
Studies show that people who eat more healthy calories throughout the day to keep their blood sugar levels constant are better able to lose weight. People who need to lose 60+ pounds should actually eat a little more (i.e., a little more fruit/veg/protein) daily than a person looking to only lose a few pounds!
