How can you tell if you have an overeating/addicted to food problem and how do you fix it?

I'd love to know how to fix it! I know I am addicted to food. I think if you are asking the question, then maybe you suspect you are also? I've suffered from another addiction but was able to break free by staying clear of it but food? You need it to survive. Sorry this isn't any help to the question. It just hit on exactly what I'm feeling.

i think i'm addicted to food cuz i feel outta control around it, hiding my eating, and am ashamed by it. don't know what the 'official' definition would be, but that's mine.

I also feel I am addicted to food because I am constantly thinking about, most of the time, trying to stay motivated to stay away from it so i don't eat the wrong thing and gain weight, or start a binge, or make myself feel guilty for enjoying food so much. I'd love to be that person that doesn't care that much about food. My husband is like that, BUT he can eat whatever he wants and not gain an ounce. Wouldn't we all love to be like that! I'd love to not obsess about food any more and I think I would have a lot of mental energy left over to do more important things!!!

do you think about food all day? does it take over your life? those are a couple ways i know i have a problem. i also overeat way too much...it's pretty much binge eating because i eat so much i end up feeling so sick and bloated. i'm pretty sure there are different degrees of overeating and addiction, so you may not have it as bad as others. sorry i couldn't answer your question better. as for fixing the problem, i'd like to figure that out as well. i've been working at it for so long sometimes i just wanna give up. let me know if you figure out a way to fix it, please.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
