Have you gotten any remediation for your dyslexia? It is expensive, but there are less expensive ways to get help, depending on where you are. And if you had medical insurance, it probably will pay for it.
It saddened me that you feel you must hide your dyslexia from the person you are dating. What would happend if you told him/her?
What happened to you sounds depressing and embarrassing. Intelligence has nothing to do with it, but when you are in a position where your weaknesses are exposed, it's humiliating.
I hope that was a one time deal for you! But I guess there will always be times when something embarrassing happens. We have to go with the flow and pray that the next day will be better. )

i think finding ways round things is the the thing that is mistaken for odd thinking..always forced the long way round .
i hate to fail at things i was brought up to not fail at things i make ,
.i have high self targets in a lot of ways,,but also i have no targets
because i know people are not machines..im forgiving .

its true most wouldnt say im stupid ,people dont look at me in that light .
its my own sence of shame about it all

at one point i coulnt spell my own name under pressure
i tryed to book a flight and coulnt spell my name right
had to come up with a way to remember it after that : /
i had a dyslexic girlfriend once and when i noticed it she just said "so"
i had never thought of saying "so"
