What bothers you most about it- the fact that she knows or the shame of being dyslexic? How did she respond to it? Perhaps she was only upset with you because she felt like you didn't care enough to respond to texts, etc and now that she knows the real reason, she will be ok with it.
Are you getting help for your dyslexia? It's a long road, but it can help.
English is a tough language as it is, and when you see block test instead of letters in a word, it's frustrating. Sometimes I look at a word and don't recognize it. It's just a bunch of lines going this way and that.
Hope things are better for you now with her.

i try to get past all my problems by myself
and when i cant i get so frustrated by it.

ive had a few people snigger at me in the past
some of them were english teachers ,i wasnt in class or anything
they were out side of work.people i knew.

also problems here and there in the real world when ive just looked dumb.

in the end she didnt make a big deal out of it.
really thought it was the start some big drama.

at least now if i want to back out of a difficult situation around her i can.

i only help myself,cant really get any help so i fix things myself when i see a way.

The article is very interesting. My Dyslexia wasn't exactly like that, but I do understand looking at words and not recognizing them as words.

I'm glad she is understanding about it. I think most people don't see us as any different than everyone else, except a few idiots out there who don't understand or care to understand. (like the teachers you talked about) I'm sorry they made you feel self-conscious.

Perhaps getting some help would help with your self-confidence, not to mention your reading. If you have insurance, a lot of insurances cover that sort of thing. It might be worth a look at.

if i ram the words into my mind eg read the text at an impossible speed i can pick up quite a lot off it ,in sort of crazy over flow

Hey, I'm actually dyscalculic and a few years ago, I was instant messaging with this guy. I'd correct my own spelling and grammar with stars (*). One day, he wrote I'm dyslexic, and I replied Oh cool, I'm dyscalculic. I explained that I didn't care how he wrote. I just have a thing about my own writing. I guess it's a perfectionistic thing, where because I cannot understand math, time, direction and other things that are visual spatial, I need my writing to be correct.

I definitely think a poor self-confidence really makes the LD worse. Sometimes with my stuttering I am not sure where the LD ends and the panic begins. My handwriting is awful also- it's so embarrassing. I have to write in front of my coworker today and even writing a simple '5/12' I made such a mess of it.
Sweetstar- I like your picture. I had dyscalculic as well. Math? Forget it. I still count on my fingers. :)
Well, we can say whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?
