heya guys, Just thought I'd say if you hav ever been told ur 2 stupid 2 do something DON'T LISTEN!


My teacher tried to make me leave her class, she said i was too stupid and would only get a Ungraded at best.....next year i'm studying that subject at uni never let anyone tell u ur 2 stupid because your not!

When I was little, around six, I asked loads of questions because I didnt understand - I so annoyed the teacher she twisted my ear round and it really hurt....I didnt ask any more questions, was disruptive instead (but must say, I thoroughly enjoyed school..lol) and was eventually expelled.........I just so believe NEVER tell anyone they are stupid and dont listen to them or believe them if they do. - but of course, that is easier said than done...

I still cant bear to be watched do anything, all fingers and thumbs with lack of self confidence (spatial dyslexia 4 years old with me)

I went through the same thing as a kid.
When I was in 1st grade my teacher thought I was mentally retarded. So I was given an IQ test and my IQ was 127, and they found that I was dyslexic. This didn't change anything though, I was still told I was stupid and treated like I was stupid. It really does have a long-term affect on your self confidence.
I'm still working on that.

Yes I missed out on opportunities in high school because my the school councilor sign me up for all the lower level classes. With out my permission. She just thought I was dumb. But I could have done the higher level courses just with some guided help. But it is much easier to label some one as dumb and not give them understanding and guidance in their disability. I really hope the schools become more aware of this disabilities and give the kids the time and energy they need to survive and thrive in the ridge educational system.

I know the exact feeling of being feeling inferior to everyone else. I was always made to feel i would never achieve anything in life. At one point i did believe it that was when i realised i always got A-C for my work but when it came down to exams i would always achieve less then my ability. I recognised that exams are my weak points but never let it stop me from wanting to achieve. Once i found out i had Dyslexia that was it i wanted to prove to the world wrong and now i am at university. I am doing ever so well but still struggling with exams. I think they should scrap exams altogether if you ask me. But i am going to book some time with a support worker to work on my exam techniques.
As Catherine said it boils down to lack of self confidence. Once we feel confident we can appear confident and turn out to be great sucessful people. Good luck with all you future aspirations and i wish everyone here the very best out of life.
