Dizziness & Vertigo Support Group
Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. So I finally saw the doctor today about my appetite. Physically speaking everything is fine. My PCP feels like the anxiety/depression over the vertigo problems is showing up in my appetite. I know I'm hungry and I even feel my stomach growl, but then at the first bite it feels like my stomach clenches up into a ball.
She's given me celexa to help with anxiety. My biggest problem is, when I have a rebound of vertigo I get so panicked and frustrated that I don't do my therapy and it only prolongs the flare up. If I can get my body to cope with vertigo, I can at least have a functional life even if I continue to need PT.
I can live with being a little dizzy. I really can. But I can't live with nausea and panic attacks.
So yeah, going to start the Celexa tonight. I have to take it easy, small meals, don't overdo it on days I feel good, and then she wants me back in 3 weeks to see how it goes.

Not yet. Primary care doctor for now (started with a new one today who is a lot nicer and more caring than my old one). When I check back with her in 3 weeks, we will see if the Celexa helps my appetite.

I to have anxiety because of my vertigo. In turn it makes my vertigo worse.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
