Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. I woke up this morning feeling really good. I did a lot of walking and even managed to eat a heavy lunch. I was scheduled to see my PT at 2:00.
Then the weirdest thing happened. I was sitting on my bed reading something on my laptop - done it a thousand times before with no problem. All the sudden, I felt this odd, I can't quite explain, like a spasm or a flicker inside my head. It was almost like a bolt of lightning. Before I could even blink, this really intense spinning took over. It was probably about a 7. It lasted a few seconds and then it subsided.
During this whole thing, I didn't twitch my head or jump or anything. It happened too fast for me to even have time to move. By the time I realized what was happening, it was over. But it left behind a pretty bad flare up. I had to take a Zofran to drive myself to PT.
Anyone had this before......?

When I got to PT, she did the Epley move on my right side and it provoked a strong reaction. After that, by the time I got home I felt really good. Today is more of a struggle though.
