I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I know that many of you have recommended some very good books about healing one's life and moving forward. This may have been posted in the past, but I would appreciate hearing your recommendations. I've got my kindle recharged and ready to go! Thanks!

I finished the Susan Anderson book and started reading "life after divorce-create a new beginning" by Sharon Wegscheider-Cruse. This book has helped me to understand and accept the divorce. Some days are tough but to be honest I don't miss walking on eggshells nor being married to someone who played and continues to play the victim card. I am scared of being single but also am reveling in the fact I am happier with the person I see in the mirror.

Has anyone compiled a complete list - CGK? Just thinking about when there are new people on here in the coming months /years (sigh...so sad to know that we will always be getting new members) this list can be posted. I am totally deflecting here :)

great idea lammine, i think a list of things to do first would be good also, perhaps it can be done in one post, things to do first, books that were helpful, i also elect the cowgirl to compile..lol.. in her spare time.. (you know i love you :) )..does this group have a CL ? I know we did long time ago by the person who started it,I remember when she left, did anyone take it over?? Anyone know how to find out??

My eyesight has got so bad i can not read books any longer unless they are large print :(

After reading The Journey from Abandonment to Healing by Susan Anderson my grief has finally subsided. This book helped me cross the final hurdle of letting go and accepting what is and who I have become in the past 3 years. I am finally able to see myself differently. The person i want to be and need to be is emerging. This book was a Godsend ..

Just finished reading "101 Things I Learned After My Divorce". Lots of good advice and food for thought. Really enjoyed the Crap Meter chapter and laughed out loud reading the Sex Economics chapter. Loved Andy Rooney's quote!

Just got Runaway Husband and the Susan Anderson one-Journey from Abandonment or something like that. Afraid to start either one :)

I really liked Runaway Husbands - it's an easy read. Right now I'm reading Verbally Abusive Relationship by Patricia Evans and it's tough to get through - clinical - but makes tons of sense. I find reading it out loud helps me LOL...
