I am so sorry for your loss. My dad passed last April at age 81. I took comfort in the fact that he lived a long good life and was finally spending eternity with my mother. Getting to spend his last few weeks of his life with him brought us both peace and comfort. You will always cherish these past few days you got to spend with your dad at the end of his earthly life. My prayers are with you.

But I'm so happy to hear you were able to spend your dads last days together and that you have a wonderful supportive family around you. Kathi, it's funny you should say that. After he passed the funeral director got there and asked if we wanted to spend time with "him". We kinda smiled and said, that's not him. That's just a body, not him. He has left that body. I am glad that he is released from that body and is with his Lord!

I'm so glad you were able to be with him during his last days. I agree, once the soul leaves the body that person is not there anymore. I'm sure your Mom was so glad to see him.

Sorry for your loss. I feel very blessed to have both my loving parents still with me and I try to NEVER forget how lucky me and my sisters are to have our family still together. THey are leaving to drive to Florida tomorrow and I will say an extra prayer for their safety on the trip! Fathers are special to their daughters - I am sure you have many wonderful memories to treasure! Best
