Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

but when I saw him I realized he was no longer the man I was still in love with. It was an eye opener for me, first time I realize all my pain and sadness was for a man who no longer existed.
In our state, once both lawyers agreed on settlement and child support, it was basically just stating that the marriage was over, and the settlement was agreeable, we signed papers, and away we went, together. Worse decision I made was not to drive myself.
I was very apprehensive about my decision when my lawyer thought he might pull something in court. She failed to inform me of how often he would stop by her office with 'strange' demands, which she just blew off. Strange was demanding I give him the dog bowl and leash, along with the dog, along with other odd things. She basically, just to get him out of her office, was to assure him, he can take what he wants, I had no qualms. At court, he didn't say a word.
I was thankful that my lawyer didn't bill me for his interruptions. I saw his lawyer bill (he lived with me 4 months after the divorce), and he paid almost 4X's more.
My attorney was positive he wouldn't cause a scene. He didn't.
Good wishes on your court date. Make sure you go with your attorney, or alone.
I did take some xanax and I believe that's the last time I saw him. He moved to FL, about 1 year later and has been there ever since. All I can say is that God was on my side with that decision. You'll be ok, and your life will go on. Stay strong...
