Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
That we will survive ... There's more to life ! THANKS !

Today, I am proud to say that I am actively working on a new book and I'm the Editor-in-Chief of an online publication that covers biology, ecology, travel writing, and the environment. I'm also teaching photography again (and shooting again myself), and I'm planning my trip to Africa for next summer after I graduate with my degree in Biology/Ecology.
I still feel the pains of emptiness from time to time, but I've learned to just power through it. While I certainly prefer the company of others, I'm okay when I'm alone. I NEVER thought I would be able to do any of these things again. "He" had always been there with me before. But, I gradually began to realize that while his body was there, he was never truly invested in anything that mattered to me. I finally understood that I had been doing what I loved "alone" all along. Nothing has changed, except that I don't have someone complaining and nagging me to hurry up.
Ziplining is on my list for this summer!!! I can't wait. And, since I've lost 72 pounds and reclaimed my size 8 clothes, I am in better shape than I've been in decades. I have plenty of energy and gumption to do things I used to scoff at.
Kudos to you for reaching your bucket list goals! I'm proud of you, and I'll be cheering you on to complete even more of them. Keep us posted on all of your new adventures.
All my best,
Kim
