Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

i am almost 4 years down the road from my initial separation and subsequent divorce (4 months later). I looked back at a couple of my goals here years ago. I am back to running again and I learned ballroom dancing. This year I went to Florida for Spring Break with my kids and grandson. We got to yell "USA, USA" at the World Baseball Classic (on my bucket list) and this past weekend, I went Ziplining (also on my bucket list)! Life may not be perfect (it seldom is) but I am enjoying it! Never fear newbies! A good life awaits you!
By the way, if you get a chance, ziplining is such fun. I can't really compare it to anything else I've ever done but just do it. You won't be sorry. One of the guides said they had taken a 94 yr-old couple up this summer so age is no excuse. Lol.
Divorce enables you to think outside the box and discover what's inside of you. You aren't limited by your ex's interests and abilities. I know you may not be ready to hear this now but there will come a day when you are.

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

People doing so many things that make themselves happy.
My divorce is 6 weeks old and I have already bought myself a house and begun to furnish it the way I want to. No asking someone else's opinion or for their approval!
The temperature in the house is where I like it!
I eat when and what I want to.
I keep the hours I want. The other night on TCM there was a Shirley somebody festival and I stayed up watching Music Man and Carousel until the wee hours of the morning.
No bucket list yet, I am too young. I just live each day the way I want to.
I am looking forward to going the the local high school volleyball games and gymnastic meets!
I can't wait to start going to the movie theatre. Buttered popcorn. Yum, Yum!
Yesterday I wrote and submitted a letter to the editor of the MPLS Star and Tribune. They PUBLISHED it today. Ah yes, the old spark, the old passions are returning.
They will never be snuffed out by another soul for as long as I live.
I am free to be me again and I am lovin' it!
I do agree with drtexdi--you have got to make a bucket list for yourself. I've done so many things I would never have done had I stayed with a verbally/emotionally abusive cheater who only cared about his needs. I've been on two cruises; I've traveled to different parts of the country; I'm writing a mystery novel; and I finally bought a wonderful new home in the town where I work. That's the best! I love my little house.
I have many other dreams that will have to wait until I retire in two years, but eventually I want to see Europe. I'll get there--part of the fun is the hoping and dreaming.
Travel has always been my biggest wish...when I went to Hawaii in May...that was a dream come true...I think it may only be the tip of the iceberg for me. I'm headed for Seattle in Oct and am in the early planning stages of going to Mexico in Dec...I want so much to visit the Aztec ruins. Its for only a week because I cant get more time off work. I hope it all works out. Plus...Im going to be a grandma and the kids just closed on the house next door so they will be really close...Life is good! Hang in there newbies...your turn is coming...you will have your day in the sun...Big Hugs...Kathy
Too much shoveling and we've had temps well below 0. Hurtin', we need to take that trip to Amish Country in the spring. We will just have to fight over who gets to drive. Lol.
Thanks
love and hugs

I love your name. It says exactly what you want and you will start to live again. I wandered to this site and this group quite a while ago. I like the people who come here so I stayed. I hope you find the support that is right for you. Make that bucket list and start living your life again.
PS: Just pray I don't break a leg. LOL!!!
