Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
It is amazing once the hurt and devastation have passed at how you look at what is possible -- instead of what you may "think" you lost.
Cheers to you for the ziplining...I don't think that's ever going to be on MY bucket list, though.
I am getting a new car on Friday and when the leaves start to turn, I plan to take some drives (maybe into Amish country). Are you game Hurtin'? I love fall colors!
HealingT, that may be a good topic . . . things that bring us happiness and contentment. It might help the new people see where they can focus their energy to bring about healing.
I always said that after getting a divorce your true self comes out .
I remember that after the divorce and she moved out , I went to a dollar store and I saw some nice coffee cups that I needed ...and liked ... For a split second I said to myself ...... She (Meaning the x) wont like them ....
I said ... : Wait , I don't have to please her anymore ...... I LIKE THEM. It was a good feeling and from then on I found many things that I liked and liked to do .that I really forgot all about them all these years ... It was like I was reborn ........... or that I'M BACK ! LOL.
Now during that time I was also mourning the divorce and they were rough times (As we all know).
But, during those "hard" times ..I was finding myself...................AGAIN .
You said you that you learned Ballroom dancing ....... Good for you . My wife and I go out at least once a week dancing . We're not experts ,but we learned many of the turns . We have fun ! Unfortunately My legs are getting worst (Blockages ) and I have to sit down more , but ...but ..I keep doing ... LOL.
Kathi, Good for you .................. No shoveling snow ... Sounds good to me .
That's one of my goals ..even just for the winter months .... two or three months will be fine .....
Yes, it's nice to do all the things that you want to do ..... that you never could ... Now that the hurt of divorce is going away....................
Have a great day everyone ................................ My love to all....................
I am a survivor of divorce and proud of it . ! LOL... (Not proud of the divorce , just that I survived )
We went to Little Hocking, Ohio and the name of the company is Canopy Tours. I don't know if any of you live close enough to this facility but it is fabulous. I believe it is about $90 for a "3 hour tour." Who knows if you will come back. Lol.
HealingT, I like your journal idea. Pastor said last night by focusing on what's going right is a good way to keep our attitude in check.
I've never put down a bucket list. Oh, I've said out loud "that's going on my bucket list" if I hear about something fun. But I'm weird. I won't make goals for myself it I don't know if I can achieve them. I have this issue at work too when they ask for goals. To me looking at what I didn't accomplish makes me disappointed. Well, the good thing about a bucket list is you have your entire life to do it....and I'm still a baby LOL
Timeman's dollar store story reminded me about how my EX hates curry. I cook all kinds of stuff with curry now. I have powered and paste. FREEEEEEDOM LOL
Tobywinn, I forgot to answer the weeeeee question. We were divided into 2 groups and I was in the first group. We could hear the other group as they were behind us For the first long zip, we decided we would all scream as we went one at a time. Well, truth is we all tried to do a fake scream but a real one came out. Lol. After the first one, none of us screamed because we wanted to show how tough we are. Athletes: you gotta love them!
What fun you guys are all having. I don't have a bucket list written down but I want to go to the Galapagos Islands, and I also want to ride in a hot air balloon. That's about it.
Ziplining sounds extremely exhilirating. I might try that, too.
I can't imagine what it must be like to have to shovel snow. I'm thoroughly enjoying owning my own home, managing my own garden, and being free to do whatever I want to do, to believe what I want to believe in. I love going to bed at night with a smile on my face, looking forward to the peace and comfort of my bed which is specially made for people in pain, with no one complaining that it's too soft or too hot or that my feet are cold. LOL. Ahhh.
love and hugs
