I was told I have Diverticulitis May; I was treated with Cipro/Flagyl which WIPED ME OUT; I didnt finish the antibiotics and ended up staying the night at the hospital; they putme on liquid diet and IV antibiotics (overnight).
Came home and started AUGMENTIN ( and I finished those); after that I was so tired and FATIGUE from liquid diet, antibiotic and stress/anxiety.
I have been struggling.
CTs show diverticula (no obstruction/no abcess) that is a good thing, right??
But I still have some pain "twinges" and sometimes feels like needles in my intestines!
Since I finished AUGMENTIN I started eating better, taking vitamins, lots of water and even started a probiotic.
I thought, finally, I was gonna recover.
Then a few days ago - went to doctor - liver inflammed, and she said I have ANOTHER INFECTION!!! Now I am on BACTRIN. My stomach in so nervous and acidy again.
I am discouraged and afraid that this will never go away... I am tired of being tired. Iwant my life back!
I also have my FIRST COLONOSCOPY this wednesday and nervous because I am afraid of the PREP and the RESULTS!!

WoW is all I can Really say..and GL. Please Post to let us Know how everything went for you !! Takes a few days to get the results, the Pathology.
DR says I was not INFECTED - just inflammed.
She could not finish it because of the inflammation.
SAid I should go back in a few months - but everything looked ok.
No mass/ No infection / No cancer / No surgery.
Says diverticulosis something I can manage thru diet. ?
I am a little confused about that because I feel the flare ups could get worse at any time - and each time I get infection = antibiotics.
Forever?
So frustrating still..... but glad I got that over with.
I guess I was hoping it would all "be gone" when I woke up today.
Not sure how to start from here .......
I hate feeling tired and nauseous!!!!
