I haven't visited this group for a while. I had surgery about a year-ish ago. They did an emergency gal bladder removal. The surgeon asked if he could explore because he had a feeling there was more wrong than just the gal bladder. By then I was so sick I didn't care and trusted him. Well... he found a huge mass of infection, the size of a soft ball or grapefruit just under the gal bladder. They never saw it because they never did a cat scan with the contrast dye... so I suffered for years with that thing growing in there. I was told after my 1st colonoscopy that I had a lesion in my lower intestine that won't heal. It bleeds when I take aspirin. I stopped all the other in-saids because they were too hard on my stomach and didn't help lower my pain from everything that's wrong with my spine from lower back all way to neck. I am a chronic pain patient with the spine diseases and take large dosed of pain meds as a result. I was told I had that lesion (not cancerous) and Diverticulosis. I am getting back to the point that I don't want to eat anymore again just like before the surgery. It doesn't matter what I eat I pay for it from my stomach all the way out the other end. Some foods are worse than others but things like lettuce, anything with high fat or grease content are extremely bad.... I live off of whatever doesn't make me sick to my stomach with nausea or that is easily digested. Now with the pro-biotics and lack of foods I can tolerate my extended release meds (capsules of little round white beads)are not digesting completely and some of the meds are left in my bowel movements. I am so tired of doctors at this point. I have a pain management for the spine...a cardiologist for the P.V.S.T., where my heart re-entry valve gets stuck open, and had an unsuccessful surgery for an ablation with radio frequency leisoning last yr too. I don't trust these docs very well and trust some of your experiences more. Is there a difference or are the 2 diseases of chrones disease and diverticulosis miss diagnosed one for the other... could it be irritable bowel syndrome. The colonoscopy did diagnosis of diverticulosis. but can that be missed diagnosed even with a procedure such as a colonoscopy? Or are those diagnosis pretty accurate? I have lost so much weight from not being able to eat. My colon will get actually swollen when I finally do have a bowel movement. I get so hungry I give up and eat. I cannot stop the pain meds to give the colon a rest because it is too severe and chronic daily for 8 yrs now. I stopped the aspirin except for chewable baby aspirin because it is the only pain reliever that works for the arthritis and the swelling of the stenosis in my lower spine. i don't begin to bleed if I let the meds that I can disolve in my mouth but the main extended release med I cannot do that with.
any experience or sugestions. I don't think I am as bad off as most of you as the hospital surgery was only once and so I am just suffering along between osis and itis. i know when I eat anything of real substance my stomach swells up like i am a few months pregnant, nausea and gas both ends and then very painful bowel movements no matter how soft they are.
