I was dx with diverticular disease back in July after 2nd colonoscopy & failed endoscopy by capsule methid but told unsure if it was diverticulitis even though he said he could actually feel the poo to the side of the bowels. He then booked another visit for next thurs day (finally) & a doppler ct scan on the morning. In the meantime I have had pain in the abdomen every day, varying in amount. Some days it has been very painful to walk so I have survived on lots of tramadol & endone (morphine) sometimes at night. i have been to my gp several timed during this time & they have said it is definately diverticulitis but wont give me antibiotics only pain killers till gastroenterologist does somethng.
Very Frustrating to say the least. I have had days where I have no bowel movements & then others when I go lots of times & it is usually a pain & then hurry. It has hurt when I have had bowel movements & this has been getting worse. Yesterday & today have been worse than before especially after I did physio today. Part way through I tried to do a small step exercise & i couldnt lift my left leg up without severe pain in left abdomen. I stopped then but the pain has barely eased & this is hours later. I have put a heat bag on it & that is minimal help.
I guess I am venting more than anything.
What I would like to know is are there particular things I should ask when I see the gastroenterologist? I know I want to insist on something to help the pain but so far he has given me nothing.
