I have asked the doc how long I will be off work and he said 2 weeks, does that sound right? I hope someone can answer these questions for me. I am really nervous about it. And also, I have had IBS for a long time. How are the syptoms similar to Diverticulitis symptoms? I know with IBS I didn't have the terrible attacks of pain as I have with Diverticulitis. Will the surgery help with the other IBS symptoms, excessive gas, bloating etc.?I guess I really need to know everything. I have been reading these posts and quite frankly some of them scare me to death. Some of them say they are still off work at six to eight weeks post surgery. I can't be off work that long. Please write and ease my mind. Thanks, Debby
