I am a senior age woman and losing weight is harder than ever. Between Sept. of 2008 and Aug. of 2009, a period of 11-1/2 months, I lost 30 lbs. It was slow but sure. It only averages out to half a pound to 3/4 of a lb. a week, or about 3 lbs. per month. But I got my body into a momentum of losing a little STEADY.
What was I doing? Counting the Weight Watcher POINTS.
I think I am like most people and want fast results then when you dont get it you just feel disheartend!!
It takes consistent eating and exercising like that for at least 3 weeks and then changes become obvious!(that's the fun part). However, my scale is no longer important to me because when I lose fat, I gain muscle...which weighs more than fat...and it will be an ego downer if you are an avid scale watcher! Seeing is believing....not number reading!
I sometimes find that my weight loss and stress level are in direct competition...which has made it more difficult to maintain(for me)...
Good luck to everyone on your journey!
also, setting myself a goal and time frame really helps. I have been giving myself 90 day challenges with a realistic weightloss amount in mind. this 90 day challenge that i started a couple weeks ago has my goal as losing 4 lbs. I want to get to the 128 range, which is a healthy weight for my height and frame.
