then even if the size is right plus size gals need to be fabric conscious cause not all fabrics are created equal when it comes to how they look on. example, I may wear a standard shirt of Torrid's size "4" but if it's a clingy, drapey, or very structured garment, I go for the Torrid size "5" because I don't want the wrong curves to be hugged.
If you are going to buy online, from a store you have never purchased clothes from before, take your actual measurements and use the company's size chart. That will save hassle, messy returns, and disappointment.
a GREAT way to start making your own clothes is do the body double mannequin, take a old long sleeve shirt and duct tape over it. have someone cut you out and then tape it closed again. stuff it, and then you can alter pre-made patterns or make your own patterns. there are tons of tutorials online.
