I gained 30 lbs this year from stress. But mine didn't magically appear. I drank a LOT of wine and ate a ton of food. I skipped the treadmill and sat down with a martini instead.
And I went from a size 8 to a 16. Sad.
So we're all in this together. My advice: these boards are great for comfort and support. Write to us whenever you're stressed.
Stress in itself can cause weight gain due to the cortisol levels rising in the body, but if you are exercising and eating healthy.....it should help counteract that.
Definitely talk to your doctor and get some tests done. If they run thyroid, ask them to run a FULL panel (not just TSH to really evaluate whether you have hypothyroidism or not. Most drs will just run TSH and they need to run TSH, FT3 and FT4 at a minimum).
